Repeated leaks across different fittings and locations in the same house, rather than one isolated failure, is the clearest sign a home's supply piping has reached the end of its practical service life. At that point, repairing each leak as it appears costs more over a few years than replacing the piping system once.
A repipe replaces aging supply lines with modern PEX or copper, run through existing wall and floor cavities wherever possible to minimize how much drywall needs to be opened and repaired afterward.
During a repipe, we also replace the main shutoff valve and any old, difficult-to-operate fixture shutoffs while walls are already open, since doing that work separately later means opening the same areas again. It's a small addition to the scope that avoids a second disruption down the line.
Original-phase homes are reaching their limit
Parts of Lone Tree developed before the RidgeGate expansion took off are old enough that original supply piping, depending on the specific material used at the time, is approaching or past a reasonable service window. Combined with Front Range hard water accelerating internal corrosion and scale in metal piping, a house in that age range showing more than one recent pipe leak is a reasonable candidate for a repiping conversation rather than another one-off repair.
In practice, we see more repiping calls from the original town-center area near Lincoln Avenue and homes built before RidgeGate's major expansion phases than from the newer construction further east and west, simply because those homes have had more years for original piping to reach its practical limits.
We also test water pressure and flow at multiple fixtures before and after a repipe, since replacing old, partially scaled or corroded pipe with clean PEX or copper often noticeably improves pressure throughout the house, not just at the specific fixture that prompted the repipe conversation.

What material and method the code allows
Repiping uses materials and joining methods approved under the plumbing code adopted in Colorado, most commonly PEX for its flexibility through existing framing, or copper where code or preference calls for it, and every new line is pressure-tested before walls are closed back up.
